Mold & Environmental Illness

Exposure to toxins in our environment, including mycotoxins from damp or moldy conditions in buildings pose potentially significant health risks.

What is mold and environmental illness?

We are exposed to an array of toxins in our environment, including pesticides, heavy metals, plastics, chemicals, as well as toxins released from water-damaged building molds, known as mycotoxins. These mycotoxins can trigger a systemic inflammatory response, leading to a variety of symptoms including: fatigue, nausea, headaches, sleep disturbance, cognitive impairment, and many others.

How can Well Integrative Medicine help me?

At Well Integrative Medicine, we have personal experience with mold and environmental illness. We had to relocate our office in 2017 to leave a water-damaged building that was making us feel ill. We know the problem is real. We’ve also diagnosed many patients who presented with symptoms of mold and environmental illness who were unaware of the impact their home or office was having on their health. Using the tools of functional medicine, we were able to help identify the cause of their symptoms and design treatment to restore them back to wellness. We can also assist you with finding environmental professionals who are experts at identifying issues in buildings and recommending treatment to restore the home or office back to health.
